Ovinton J'Anthony Mayo G | Age: 24 | 5.60

Mayo has been a great citizen in Nation of Grizzlam. He went from runner-up Rookie of the Year to an after-thought of the 6th Man of the Year race. Last year we auditioned two rookie point guards and a washed up vet (pargo, selby, and arenas) for the backup PG role after tossing aside former Bob Cousy award winner Greivis Vasquez and Jeff Teague's protogé Ish Smith. This left the ball in OJ's hands for the 7 game sludge fest against an undermanned, overhyped, upstart Clippers team. Mayo dropped the ball... However, he's always risen to the task given to him by the Grizzlies and few pro athletes can be that flexible.

Despite this post-season failure, Mayo still has buckets of potential waiting to be spilled in Dallas this year. And for that his ranking moved up 3 spots this year. Not for what he's achieved in Memphis, but for the starting role that his ability and talent and hard work has given him with the Mavericks, which possibly could result in 20ppg this year and All-Star considerations.

Furthermore, I can't believe we're in the 60s and haven't seen Tony Allen yet!

Other Memphis notables in the 80-99: Thaddeus Young.
